Stretch to the Size of Your Calling IThe other fundamental of fulfilling your life purpose is to truly know what matters to you and express it. Then when the worm is thrown into your nest, you’ll understand it is a call to the greatness of which you are capable. In Carson’s case, despite the negative aspects of her exhaustive exploration, she never lost sight of her fundamental sense of wonder for the natural world. Her essential message remained: “As we focus on the wonders of the Universe, the less taste we will have for its destruction.”
Destiny will step in, in its own time, if we are clear about our original medicine. When Michael Jackson was a member of the Jackson 5 he decided to break out on his own with a vision of becoming the biggest entertainer of all time. When he died in June, he had created the biggest-selling album ever in “Thriller” and his life and death rocked the world. Yet living his destiny to display his gifts as an entertainer came at no small cost.
Whether rabble-rouser or rebel, responding to your individual call will rarely lead to a life of ease. Yet what greater legacy is there than giving your unique gift to the world, having it be witnessed by others, and knowing you did what you came to earth to do?
What message is choosing you? Where has your life prepared you to engage while you were busy making other plans? If you were to see yourself as a courageous pioneer, bringing a new perspective to the forefront, what is it you would say or do?
What will the world lose if you do not live the message for which your life is preparing you?
